That is the only way they will ever make a serious dent in the deficit and debt unless they drastically cut spending and we all know that will never happen. Raising taxes on just the rich is not going to be anything but a drop in the bucket.

tran, please tell me what "trevor fair share" would be. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but the top 5% pay something like 80-90% of all the income tax paid. How much of a person's income should they be allowed to keep?

I'm middle income - we all need to pay more & everyone needs a benefit decrease too. Once we are balanced we can fix the tax code. We (Americans) need to stop crybabying & start working together!

Yes, I agree. The 50% that don't pay taxes need to start paying their fair share. The middle class has already been raped enough.
