Highway 9 is and has always been dangerous. I try to avoid using it as much as possible.

My wife has to drive it everyday from about Earlsboro to the Thunderbird casino. She works at the Absentee Shawnee health complex. I fear for her every day. She already totaled my maxima out hitting a deer about two years ago just about half a mile from her work.

Exactly. I was just telling someone today about all the deer through that stretch of road.

Unfortunately I worked surveillance at the gambling joint there for a little while and I was constantly on the look out for critters.

I also barely missed being in some serious collisions by keeping my head on a swivel.

I always tell her to do just that. Not paying attention can be a death sentence on that road.
