In an effort to publicize their mobile phone division, Radio Shack is cutting the prices on their phones, as well as offering a trade-up program. They discounted the iPhone 4 by $50, and gave me $125 for my wife's 3GS. After all was said and done, I got her an iPhone 4 16GB model for $25 (+tax). It's such a good deal, that there was even an Apple employee in the Radio Shack getting one. Other phones besides iPhones are also included in the offer. Deal ends Dec. 11th.

how much did it cost for your service and did you have to sign a contract?

Re-up on the contract required (of course), and don't remember the specifics of the service cost, as this one just replaced the existing phone that was on my account. Wife loves how much faster the 4 is than the 3GS, and loves the screen.

Its the same thing as signing a 2-year contract, but the $200 subsidy cost for the phone gets an addition $50 discount via radioshack and a $125 / $75 discount for a trade in iPhone 3GS / 3G respectively. That cuts the phone price to $25. Add tax + the $10 upgrade fee gets you to a ~$40 total.

Still not a bad deal.
