I was statoned at McGragor Missie Range, New Mexico. This was part of Ft Bliss TX. WE had MP's as guards because of the nature of what they did there. I was the OD driver one night, and they had some Mexicans come on the range to steal Gasoline, they shot at the MP's and then got off the range property. They then called the New Mexican HP, to make a report on this. This was in 1964, and the Highway Patrol Office was driving a new dodge patrol car. Of course I was looking at it, and ask him what engine it had. He said it has a 426 HEMI with two fours, he opened the hood, and sure enough it did! He said on these long straight roads he had to have something that would run to catch some of the cars he chased He gave me a little deminstration as he left. I was impressed! I bought a used Plymoth equiped like that a few years later.
