Anyone have any suggestions?
The mortar above the garage door is failing.
Hate to have to say it but he has to be willing to work in Mustang.

There is a reason the mortar failed(inadequate support likely), that needs to be addressed first. Is there any noticeable sagging of the lintel?(metal support across the door opening).
The lintel is a rather thick piece of metal, no sag whatsoever. It's failing around the planters, and on the mailbox too. I think it's just subpar mortar

Mortar mixture was wrong..... If the mixture is too out of proportion it will erode like that just do to rain. Run your finger or a stick lightly over it , it will probably turn to sand /powder.
It could also be that there were no brick ties put in to stabilize it and the brick my have some amount of movement from high winds which is breaking up the mortar.
Dealing with that issue at one of our properties .

Are you fixing it personally or having someone else do it? I think this is above my "want to" level and right at my "I'd rather pay someone" line. Edit, that was you that posted earlier. I need to call Corey
