I never know when I will see them. Its always a crap shoot. Sometimes I get lucky sometimes not. Rarely do we see them during the day. I always carry my rifle and a shotgun for copperheads and cottonmouth. I have killed quite a few snakes with my .45.

Yeah I understand that. That is why most ranchers I know that have pigs in their areas carry an AR or sks or AK or something so they can sling some lead quick at a pig if they scare them up.... My friends personally typically carry a shovel for their snakes.

I like a wee bit more distance between a snake and my leg therefore a sidearm is always on my hip.

yeah I don't blame you. I am not saying I would kill them with a shovel, but that's what they do.
