Guys, for 2 years now I've been hunting some IMR 7977 for my Rem 700 PS with NO success. Can I pick y'alls brains as to a better powder than IMR 4350 that's been my go-to for years now. H1000 has also been nonexistent and I've not tried Win 760 in the 300 but have experience with it in several 30-06's (and Garand) So any help you sages can offer you know will be appreciated.

Shows some loads using 760 powder.

If I need a load for a certain powder I pick the caliber and then just pick the powder I do not input
the bullet as some bullets will not show the powder i seek load data for.

I do not have a 300 WM so cant off any other help other than super prep the cases and anneal each time for best consistency.

You might try the retumbo in place of the 7977 and try the stabil 6.5 in place of the 4350. I use H4831 in my 270Win with great success.

Edit: this is a burn rate chart. Higher the number the slower burn rate. From here:

Just keep in mind the variations between powders on that chart is not accurately represented by their position. Some have only minor differences between them, others have huge pressure differences. Start low and watch for pressure signs.

I would stick in the range of IMR 4895 to IMR 4064 in the Garand. More modern powders are out of the burn rate and will damage the op rod. 4895 is what they were designed for but 4064 works too. It's not just pressure, it's the rate at which the pressure builds. Varget and 8208XBR are in the range but good luck with those too.

IMR-4350 is fantastic in .270WIN so it should be good in .30-06. 4831 is one of the most versatile powders out there too. I've been looking for H1000 and Retumbo myself for my .270WSM and may have to settle for something else when and if I ever get around to it.
