Definitely want to check the water table elevation in your area before doing this. If the water table "normal level" is 80' down, this will never happen.

Floating and pushing will be two different thing with one of those tanks. In this case it was near the top of a hill, Buried there, not dug out and sit in place.

Horizontal tanks were used in the 80s for produced water and oil on tank batteries. Some are still presently used. Not sure if there are any still produced. They are roughly 8 foot in diameter and 20 foot long.

All of the ones I have seen have had conical ends.

This one has a rolled edge, maybe 2-3 radius.

This one is probably 3/16-1/4 thick and in good shape. They're not going to live long enough for rust & corrosion to be an issue.

But all good if someone was considering doing it for their self.
