New here and interested in learning lots more about Rifles, guns and the 2nd Amendment. My folks always had guns, and one was a 22 Rifle that my Mom used to shoot squirrels and miscellaneous other critters, when I was a kid.

My favorite hunting memory was her sitting in a darkened room at an open window (no screen) elbow propped on the sill and rifle against the frame, shushing us kids to absolute silence. We waited and waited. A sudden crack, we all jumped, and Mom went out the door. Presently she returned with a squirrel, carried by the tail. "Find the bullet," she said. I looked for blood spots, the fur was smooth, unmarked. Finally I found the it. Buried in the left eye. The squirrel supplied meat for our meal that day. This was 60 years ago, a different age. Yep, I got to hold the critter while Mom skinned it.

Well, I am new to this gun thing. There is an awful lot I don't know and I already know enough to generally get me into trouble. I have aquired a few hand guns and rifles. I have my first AR 15 and I am looking for things to modify it. I live in McAlester and I have become a member of the local gun club and I have completed the concealed open carry class. I never realised that I would enjoy firearms as much as I have so far. Who knew? Even though I am a woman I am loathe to purchase any girlie flavored guns. Ewww, a burglar may die from laughter before I shoot him. However, I did purchase a .22 sig sauer Mosquito that came in a fetching dark purple. I used it for the class. So, here I am a gun loving gal. Peace, love and axle grease y'all.

hey my name is axel and im about to graduate from college this semester from weatherford and hopefully start having some more free time to start shooting some guns again. I have always been an outdoors man and about to get my concealed carry pretty soon. My dad and cousin brought me to this awesome site and cant wait to learn from a lot of yal.

Could not have timed that better if we tried!!!

Welcome to the nut house. :D

Hello all. As another FNG to the forum, I would like to say that it's great to have a place to talk about guns and ammo without someone frowning at you in the break room (yes, there are liberals in OK). I live in Yukon, work in the golf industry, and spend my free time plinking and hunting. Looking forward to learning and sharing! E

Welcome to the forum. Glad to see someone else from McAlester on here. I know you did not take your carry class from me since I have not had anyone shoot a purple Mosquito in any of my classes. Good job on getting your carry license.

Hello, all. I've been here for a little over a month now so I figured I had better formally introduce myself. My name is George, 42 years old and live in Piedmont, but grew up in SE Oklahoma. I joke around that I grew up in the sticks, with the ticks and hicks. Fact is, we lived 8 miles from a paved road and I would do my school work on the bus so as soon as I got home, I could grab my grandpa's 22 and head to the woods. If you have ever hunted squirrels until you had a crick in your neck, you and I can relate.

My appreciation for guns came from my youth but my love of guns came while working at a pawnshop while in college. I have a considerable collection of guns and knives. I love all guns but prefer to use them, therefore I don't have any that are just for show, so no 1800's Colts or Sharps.

I was a LEO for a short time before getting back into agriculture. My family is my biggest driving force followed closely by hunting. I enjoy shooting any chance I get and really love shooting distance. I love teaching my kiddos the shooting sports, hunting and survival skills. I really think my 9 year old daughter knows more about surviving in the wild and gun safety than most adults in this day and age.

Anyway, in the last month, I have read about and conversed with many of you that have the same interests as me. I have felt welcome here and have received some great advice and direction. I look forward to building friendships here and helping out wherever I can. Thanks for a great forum!

Guess it's my turn. Been here in Oklahoma for 14 years and up till now didn't really see a need for a gun but with the ever changing world thought I'd better prepare myself and my family (wife and 2 little ones). I've gotten a ton of help from piston10 and I'm grateful for whatever anyone shares with me along my journey here.

Active member of a Titan forum and happy to help with auyomotive needs since that's the profession I've been in for the past 10 years.

Anywho. Glad to be partaking in the efforts to uphold and protect our 2nd ammwndment rights!
