Been lurking for 3-4 months and enjoying the variety of posts from like-minded folks. Currently living the good life retired from military and career. Not really a hunter but a staunch believer in firearms ownership and constitutional guarantees. Firmly convinced that the country is going to hell in a hand basket.
Let's see - grew up as a recreational shooter and occasional (rarely successful) hunter. Gave up the hunting part in the early 70's after my father got older and lost interest, then got too busy for the shooting part in the mid-80's working too many hours. Have a bit more time on my hands these days so decided to start shooting again as well as teaching my wife who'd never touched a gun before I got her started a few weeks ago. Also considering getting into reloading - did a bit with a friend years ago and enjoyed it, but not quite sure where to start again. So far have been shopping and making various shows just to get up to date on what's out there in the way of guns and goodies and hoping to make a few contacts who can help with good advice and pointers.

Thank you, I have just registered. I live on Ft.Gibson Lake and have applied for SDA. I am new to guns and have learned a lot from reading the posting here and other gun forums. 6 months ago I would never have been here, but recent break ins in the immediate neighborhood with the residents at home have made me much more aware and paranoid. I have recently purchased to handguns a SCCY Generation 1 9mm and a Beretta PX4 9 mm full size. I got in to guns in time for the ammo shortage so have not been able to shoot very much. I don't want to spend $ 25 for a box of 50 when it should be about 10 or 11 for target ammo. OSBI ran my card on 3-1 so I should get my license before June 1 (wishing anyway). Thanks for the good information and something to do.

I used to dove and deer hunt, but haven't had access to any good land to hunt in recent years. I grew up shooting and have always loved it. I've got a couple shotguns and my deer rifle. I picked up a .22 pistol to plink with a few years back (Ruger bearcat). I also have a 1911 my Grandfather gave to me before he passed. Ever since the tragedy in CT I have been paying attention to the gun control debate. I just don't undertand the extreme positions (on both sides of the debate). I think its time for a little Common Sense.
