Opposition MP says ISIS is selling oil in Turkey
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) has been selling smuggled Syrian oil in Turkey worth $800 million, according to Ali Ediboglu, a lawmaker for the border province of Hatay from the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP).
The report noted that some 2,000 oil wells exist in the Rumeilan region, which lies on the other side of the border stretching between [Turkey’s] districts of Cizre in Sirnak province and Nusaybin in Mardin province. “The region’s oil is being smuggled to Turkey. The daily amount of smuggled diesel fuel has reached 1,500 tons, which corresponds to 3.5% of Turkey’s consumption,”

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -- Islamic State fighters seized control of Iraq's biggest dam, an oilfield and three more towns on Sunday after inflicting their first major defeat on Kurdish forces since sweeping through the region in June.
Capture of the Mosul Dam after an offensive of barely 24 hours could give the Sunni militants the ability to flood major Iraqi cities or withhold water from farms, sharply raising the stakes in their bid to topple Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's Shi'ite-led government.
"The terrorist gangs of the Islamic State have taken control of Mosul Dam after the withdrawal of Kurdish forces without a fight," said Iraqi state television.
The swift defeat of Kurdish "peshmerga" troops dealt a sharp blow to one of the only fighting forces in Iraq that until now had stood firm against the Sunni Islamist fighters who aim to redraw borders of the Middle East.

Obama left a void in Iraq when he prematurely pulled the US military out.
That void is being filled by a terrorist group as predicted by all the military analyst.
No one should be surprised about any of this. The same thing will happen when we pull out of Afghanistan in December.

What gets me is how the Iraqi Army just sat by and let their largest hydroelectric dam be taken. They didn't even send one convoy to help the Kurds.
We should have stayed out of Iraq in the first place...Just saying.
Ha ha.....was thinking the same thing. A couple of operatives serving as caddies at Congressional GC would be an issue!
