OK, this is VERY unconventional, but...........

A coworker brought some jerky to work. After discussing how his wife made it, we had to try it. We'll do this from now on.




Use hamburger, mix your ingredients in and form into a loaf. Let marinate,as you normally would.
Slice into strips, 4" x 1" x 1/4" or whatever style you prefer.

Use LEAN burger.

no drying or heat? no waiting period?

I've been using the Hi-Mountain jerky mix for the last couple of years. I add a little pepper to spice it up some.
Gonna try a couple new recipes later this week, if we score on our controlled hunt.

we gave our dehydrator to my SIL. My DIL bought a real nice one recently.We used it for jerky, turned out real good. Even used it for pineapples and strawberries.
