I won’t pay the taxes or mark up. I buy new/used. That is to say from someone that has been caught up in buying markup at dealers and later realize the payment is killing them. They have taken the depreciation and paid the taxes. If there payoff is reasonable, I pay cash and have a new/used vehicle with low mileage.
