We had a moonshine thread a few days ago, so here's one for the "upscale" folks!!
To celebrate the Queen of England’s Diamond Jubilee marking her 60th year at the throne, Johnnie Walker has released “Diamond Jubilee”, a special $158,235 bottle of rare malt and grain Scotch Whiskey distilled in 1952, the year of her majesty’s coronation.
Pehaps one of the most loved and well-known whiskey brands of all time, Johnnie Walker is known for its limited edition bottles and quality whiskies. To honor her majesty the Queen of England on her Diamond Jubilee, Johnnie Walker has released a specially crafted bottle and whiskey distilled in 1952 to mark the 60th anniversary. The Baccarat crystal decanter has been formed in the shape of a diamond and in addition to the Queen’s personal decanter, there will be 60 editions of the bottle sold worldwide for $158,235 each.
The only caveat is that the bottles will be sold by invitation only to ensure that the “most premium of connoisseurs and collectors” are able to purchase one. **That leaves me out in the cold***
An extraordinary amount of care and attention has gone into every stage of crafting this Scotch Whisky and there has been a great sense of excitement building towards today, when the full character and flavors of Diamond Jubilee by John Walker & Sons will be revealed for the first time.”
The decanters come in a casing decorated with sterling silver, a half a carat diamond, the royal coat of arms, the John Walker & Sons monogram and an individual number on the seal.
Think its any better than Blue, Red, Green, Black, Gold, and their Double Black labels??
