Fourteen states that say you do not have to give a reason to get a CCW permit in a friend-of-the-court brief filed in the 4th U.S. Circuit of Appeals in Richmond, Va.:

Interesting to see Bama on that list and I'm glad to see that at some point they reversed having to give a reason for needing a reason to get a CCL. Back when, you had to provide a reasonable and articulable reason for needing a CCL, not just wanting one. I don't know if it was County-by-County or statewide but in Madison County, they wanted to be convinced.
