Shadowrider is correct. ATF requires the makers engraving be .003" deep. Most engraving shop lasers won't go that deep.
Would you please post contact info for Hailey Ordnance (website, address, phone #, etc..). Also, what did they charge for your engraving?

Interesting. I guess I dont understand the reason for this regulation. Seems sillyYes, it is, but that is their requirement (see chapters 6 and 7 of the ATF NFA Handbook). Most laser will just barely burn through the anodizing.

Excuse my ignorant self, I've not ever purchased a suppressor because of the damned tax stamp thing, but what needs to be engraved on one?
If you are buying an existing suppressor, you do not need to engrave anything. The OP was making his own suppressor, so he has to engrave his name, city and state.
