I am dieing to go one more time but I have my first grandbaby coming in the morning and can not get away. I was going to sneak off work early one day this week but have had guys sick and could not get out of here. I have a javalina hunt scheduled the first week of march and will have to wait till then. I will be after the coyotes in the mean time when possible.

I'm going, too.

Which reminds me I wanted to mask you guys a question. The wheat field I've hunted since October has been cut of cows have been on it for a long time. Not much green left. I've seen plenty of deer here, so I am not worried that they are not in the area, but I wonder what are they eating now. Most of the wheat is gone. Aren't most of the acorns gone, too?

At any rate, I threw out some corn and cubes last night. Hopefully, all the geese won't eat it or the cows, but I threw a good bit behind an electric fence.

Happy hunting,

That wheat will be coming on faster than you might think in this warmer weather, especially since the cattle have been pulled off of it.

Wasn't planning on it, but my dad and buddy called me wanting to to give it one last shot, so I'll try to head down for the evening hunt if I can get away in time. Not very optimistic because I have no decent late season spots.

As far as moving on....I can't. May need therapy. February-September is just time I gotta waste until Oct. 1st, when life begins again.

I'll do a little camping and some fly fishing, but that is just to keep from going insane.

Bye deer season.:bye:

Turkey hunting, hog hunting, and bowfishing make for excelent therapy. I have to admit, without them I would go insane between seasons.

I went out early yesterday for my evening hunt and pulled down one of my stands and brought in my camera. I had the camera in video mode and when I checked it 4 bucks walked by it at 20 minutes after noon last Saturday. The last buch through was a nice 8-point. 20 minutes after that 3 does walked by. That is a good stand location.

I'll be back today, but I already took that stand down.

I jumped a doe walking in this evening, and had 2 come in behind me right at dark, out of range. My pops got blanked, hunting buddy had 4 does just out of range. Twas foggy this evening.

Hope you guys had a good one, only 258 more days to until next season!

Got up to go so fogy you couldn't see 10 feet.By the time the fog lifted I didn't have time to get out to the stand and make a doctors appointment.I did buy a Sportsman Condo blind for me and my grandson for next season, can't wait to try it out.
