I have a piece of crap revo of some make that is waiting for something like this. Bring it!
The catch is.....who determines the value of the gun to be surrendered?
Microprinting will solve nothing. Any thug can go anywhere, pick up a handful of brass and throw it on the ground at a crime scene. Now you have dozens of suspects.
Most guns used in crimes are stolen or a POS throw away gun that gets used once and dumped. Stupid to use it more than once. If I were to use a gun in a crime, it would be a pool of molten metal an hour later.
True, but it can still be valuable. As an investigative tool, a finite pile of brass can produce a finite number of suspects--leads, instead of a direct link, but still leads. More importantly, if the investigators can match a piece--any piece, regardless of how many are there--of brass to a suspect at some point, that can be introduced as evidence at trial. Having a pile of random brass is also useful as it shows premeditation.Microprinting will solve nothing.
