True, I forgot about a dedicated competition gun.

I compete in matches to practice my firearm handling skills. It's not training, but it is good practice. Because I view it that way, I maintain the same setup on my IDPA match rifle as I do when I have it handy for defense.

To each his own though.

I guess it's pretty rude to post comment without contribution.. This is my non-fighting AR It not only has a beer opener, but a cigar cutter on the other side!

I can hold MOA at 300 and it is as flat as a 10/22.

Picked this up yesterday. Its gonna be a Christmas present to my Godson, not sure how I'll build it yet, though. Maybe a basic 16" 5.56 plinker, maybe a nice 6.8 SPC so he can have his first hunting rifle. We'll see, I've got plenty of time.

My godson is 13 and has really gotten into the airsoft thing. He says he wants to serve in the military like I did also. Maybe he is trying to soften me up but I have been thinking about a build for him. You kinda confirmed it for me.
