That's my first Night Force scope. Seems to be built like a tank. I wasn't sure about going with the small diameter objective but this one gathers just as much light as my other 40mm obj. scopes! Only problem I can find is now I want another one for my .308

gunna buy an AR whats a good platform to start with i have 1K to spend tax and all. Whats the best bang for the buck and why

You can buy a new complete Noveske basic complete upper (14.5" w/pinned flash hider or 16"), they come with front & rear sights. They are having a promotion right now where you get a free comsetic second stripped lower with an upper purchase. I have ordered two of the lowers and really can't tell why they are considered seconds. You should be abel for buy an LPK and butt stock assembly and have a quality AR for about $1000.

I am in the process of doing this, my upper will be here Monday and I will have a compete gun. I have used quality parts in building the gun. As funds permit, I am going to upgrade the grip, handguards and trigger group.

A little more that what you are wanting to spend but you can find some new Colt 6920's for $1200ish.

Here's mine. I've got a few more upgrades coming in this week like a flattop and Magpul buis and I am looking at the Eotech 557 with 3x optics.

Nice looking set up..how do you like the 6.8? I thought about going that way but decided to go with the 6.5 Grendel. Are you reloading or buying factory ammo? What type of scope ring do you have?
