Man I really like that. 7.5"? Is it 556 or 300 blk? I've been thinking of doing a lightweight shorty upper in 300 BLK. I'm just weeks away from my SDN-6 being approved so I want a 300 BLK for HD. Any idea on what that setup weighs like it sits there?

10.5" 5.56. No idea on weight, it's not anymore lighter than a plain Jane 16", the Vltor upper is beefy.

New 14.5 build the guys at Fatboy Tactical helped me out with. Thing shoots really well but I can not replace that ace socom stock quickly enough. Aimpoint micro t-1 is hopefully on the way pretty quickly.

My first AR build
DSA lower with DSA parts kit and butt stock
DPMS upper with 20" Bull Barrel
Yankee Hill Ultra Lightweight Free Float
TacOps1 charging handle
Hand-me Down Bolt and bolt carrier from a friend

I was able to go out last weekend and run 20 rounds through it and had good results with the way it shoots. This weekend the plan is to take it back apart and change out the trigger springs and polish the sear, changing the bolt and bolt carrier, and will be threading the barrel and building a custom muzzle brake that should take the overall barrel length to 24". After that who knows what else I will change, I have to find what kind of optics I want.
