Mine is finally back together and is now sporting the properly colored Tango Down VFG (thanks to DuraCoat).

I have to say that the duracoat wasn't the exact same shade as some of the Magpul furniture, but I started to notice that all of the Magpul stuff doesn't match 100% anyways.

I got it a little too thick in a couple of spots (and a little too thin in a couple of others), but it didn't turn out as shiny as I thought it was going to from being too thick a coat and the few spots where it looks thin, I don't think anyone but me can see (at least not at first glance). I'll re-coat it when I get the chance, but for now, it works and matches - plus, the places where I'm going to hunt with this thing are covered in mostly yellow-brown weeds and brush, so every little bit of FDE helps :thumb:. Duracoat is surprisingly forgiving and my sprayer turned out to be a pretty nice piece of equipment - I foresee more FDE stuff in my future :D

Thanks man - now I just need a quality optic. I've only got until this one gives up the ghost, because I'm not buying another cheapo to tide me over (I have yet to save up the money, I always find something else to spend it on :D ).

Oh - and a flashlight mount too.

I think that we've all bought cheapo stuff and regretted it. I know that with my 9mm AR project I spent so much on the rifle that I couldn't stand the thought of a cheap optic. lol... I wanted something different but ended up with the Eotech anyway. Maybe when I win the lottery a Trijicon will take it's place.

Check out the VTac flashlight mounts they are durable and affordable and they make a tan one. For the optic go with the Tan EOtech 553, those should complete your gun and match you color scheme. :)
