Just noticed someone asking about me Jeep. No one has ever made a bad comment about my Liberty; I think most people are just impressed someone with a Liberty ever takes it off the pavement, and that I built it up a little bit. Like you, I wanted something a bit different than the norm and something a bit more friendly to daily drive and carry passengers and cargo. Hell, this is my wife's daily driver, and we have a 13 month old son. No one laughed when they saw us driving it around during the Christmas Ice Storms this year, taking our son from one Grandparents to the other ;) no way was he going to miss his first Christmas! My daily driver is a Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4.... not much aftermarket for it but it does fit 33" tires (285/75r16 stock), so it has some cheap all-terrains on it. I just wanted a truck. The Liberty really is a bit more "streetable"than an XJ, Wrangler, or even the old ZJ and WJ jeeps, with the IFS, even though the gas mileage is no better (15 mpg maybe?). No removable top is what I wanted in this vehicle (for comfort), and 4 doors. But I'm also pretty confident I could go most (not all) places a Wrangler with open differentials and 265/75r16s could go.
