Lexington WMA Shooting Ranges

Several WMA ranges don't have target stands. People drag out boxes and all sorts of trash to shoot. Unfortunately, many of them leave the trash out there when they are done. These ranges look more like a trash dump than a shooting range.

Lexington is the nicest WMA range I have found. We have been going out there for the last couple of years. Most people we run into out there are good people. Even the young folks out there. We have had to leave early a couple of times due to idiots doing dumb stuff. I would have call the Rangers, but we don't have any cell signal anywhere close to the range. Another case of a few people messing up a good thing for everyone.

I have not used those ranges since 1997, but I would always leave them cleaner than I found them.

I was just talking about this place last week. I have never been but someone was telling me it has a bunch of nice renovations since the last time I enquired about it.

Thank you for your time and effort for the shooting sports. I’m sorry you have to deal with that ignorance childish behaviors.

I have seen it done when I showed up.
Guy was all by himself early in the morning with multiple paper targets hung on the stands and giving them all a good poking with his pistol.
I let him carry on as I was unloading my car.
When I was ready to hang a target he stopped we hung targets and went to bench shooting.

That’s what I had heard as well. Not a problem if you are solo on the range and safe of course.

Anybody have info on this range? I live in Mustang and looking for a decent place to shoot bench rifles at longer than 100 yards. Pay as you go no membership as I work out of state and don’t get to shoot often. 500-1000 yards would be nice. Fouled bore not bad but pretty pricey. Anything else out there?
