This has probably been discussed before but it's new to me. I'm having issues with my 2 year old Liberty Safe. I've changed the Duracell battery a couple of times as instructed but all of a sudden it goes into 'penalty time' or lockdown mode even when the correct combination is punched into the Securam touch pad. I've sent a message to Liberty but not heard back yet. Being locked out of my safe causes anguish. I let it set overnight and it began working again.....but then a few hours later......locked out again. Wished I'd got a mechanical dial safe.

Get another lock coming and in the meantime, research the mechanical conversion.

My two penneys:

Leave it unlocked until you get it fixed. Replace it (lock and keypad) with an S&G electronic. Even a caveman could do it. They make an EMP resistant (so they say) one also.

Or if truly paranoid replace it with a mechanical dial. A little more involved than changing to another electronic lock but again, not hard to do.

Some diehards will say never use an electronic lock, but my S&G (came on the safe) has been going since 2006. It will probably outlive me.

Just don't lock yourself out working on it. IF you're not comfortable doing this hire a smith.
