Likely Scenario over next 2 years

Jan 2013: Crazy Uncle Joe Biden's task force releases "findings", the most important of which is a "surprising agreement" amongst all groups that background checks MUST be performed for sales of all firearms. Other distractions like magazine capacities and "assault weapons" are thrown in as well to confuse the issue.

Feb 2013: Senate and Congress debate. Republicans "fight for 2A" and prevent passage of bills banning "assault weapons" and "mag capacities" However, in the spirit of compromise, and under pressure from media, US Senate & Congress Democrats and RINO republicans pass a law banning the "gun show loophole". Obama signs off on it saying this is a "first step" towards making our "children safer".

Mar 2013: After a "serious study" Eric Holder's DOJ tells Obama that the new law cannot be implemented since no information is available on who owns what firearm at the federal level (except class 3 destructive devices like real machine guns, grenade launchers, etc). The DOJ "task force" recommends to Obama that the only way to implement this new law by Congress is to have a national database of all firearms at the federal level. Obama signs an Executive order to mandate that all FFL holders across the country turn in their records to the national database. The EO "we gonna track yer" is challenged by the NRA and other groups.

April 2013: The US Supreme Court hears the case on an expedited basis and declares the EO is legal (5-4 vote), because it is needed to implement a direct law passed by Congress.

May 2013: Gun owners across America get a letter from the DOJ asking them to list all firearms they have in their possession, in accordance with law "Make kids safer" and Executive Order "We gonna track yer".

June 2013: Obama signs an Executive order "Keep guns responsibly" that allows BATFE agents to inspect guns of all gun owners in USA to ensure they are responsibly stored, with a 24 hour notice of the inspection. Gunowners across the country start getting letters from BATFE agents regarding inspections. Inspections are performed by heavily armed BATFE agents. Gunowners who store guns "in a manner not found suitable by BATFE" have their guns confiscated and are denied from purchasing firearms again.

December 2013: Millions of Americans have been disarmed. The Second Amendment is now a historical curiosity, written at a time when there was no "organized law" in the land. Not needed now that USA is such a "safe country". The NRA shows a rapidly shrinking membership.

June 2014: Violent crime is up threefold. The inner cities have become hell-holes. National Guard troops have been called into cities like Chicago and LA several times. The suspension of posse comitatus is now routine.

Nov 2014: The cowed populace, dependent on government for most needs including its security, votes democrat. The House and senate become democrat by large majorities. Republicans are just a shadow party, filled with out-of-touch, well meaning, old fools.

Jan 2015: Like every year before (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d113:h.j.15:), a bill is proposed to suspend the 2 term restriction on the Presidency, i.e. overturn the 22 Amendment.

Bottom Line: DO NOT LET THE MANDATORY BACKGROUND CHECK BILL BE PASSED. IT IS FAR MORE DANGEROUS THAN ANY "ASSAULT WEAPON" or MAGAZINE CAPACITY" BAN. Bring it up when we talk to our reps and congressmen.

Interesting, You forgot the part in June 2013 about how the ATF lost most of its force to domestic terrorists, as they were killed entering law obiding citizens homes unlawfully, trying to seize their firearms.

While plausible, there is no way the .gov and especially the SC move under that timeline. It would be much more protracted than that and another election would occur before the people were that helpless.

Also, a timeline that quick with the direct correlation between disarmament and a sharp rise in violent crime would wake many Americans want their guns back and the R party would be promising just that. The resulting election would likely result in a 2/3 majority in congress. Allowing the congress to both overturn unconstitutional laws and impeach O. And by this time the SC may have had time to rule the law unconstitutional anyways.


I hope we are both wrong and enough of us join the. NRA/GOA so that these bills die in the HOR.

I hope so. The aim of the original post was to wake folks up to the dangers of the apparently harmless law of mandating BG checks on sales of ALL firearms in the USA, and what that will lead to. We can stop this now, by demanding that our reps DO NOT VOTE for the BG checks. Especially the RINOs.

I expect if anything over the next 2 years things will swing more in our favor. All the people buying now "just because" will probably get out and shoot them at some point, realize its fun and they are just objects, and we will have more people "on our side".

Regarding your upcoming events in Mar 2013, how many FFL's do you think would say they lost all their paperwork in a toilet backup? I think my secrets are safe with BANG, he is my dealer of choice!

I like everyone's message of hope, and I hope and pray we will be OK as a nation. I am usually a positive person.....the original post in this thread was just a dark look at a possible future that can easily happen, but we can stop now.

It's fun to believe that government agents are stupid. The reality is they are not. They might get surprised once, maybe even twice. But once they start dying they aren't just going to rollover and give up.

Better come up with a better tactic there reddog than meeting them on your doorstep. Hell man all they'd have to do is shoot tear or sleeping gas thru your front window. You keep on shooting because you have a gas mask and the next thing that will happen is your home being burned to the ground and it'll all be a big mistake.

Remember Waco - you do remember Waco don't you? Only this time it won't take 'em weeks to finish the job - it'll be just minutes. What happens after that we'll just leave to the imagination.
