On duty, on his lunch break? How long of a lunch break does he get? Did he drive there in his police vehicle on the people's dime?

This is entirely normal. He wasn't part of the combined local and USSS team and he was treated just like anyone else would be.

Tulsa cops let him in the side door? Did they let his family bypass security too?

He might regret the attention his whining might bring.

why was the secret service there to begin with, and when did we start paying them to stand guard over a private citizen if we are, where is my secret service protection when i leave my house to go somewhere, just because he is a president candidate doesnt mean we have to pay for his private protection.
And NO the officer wasnt in the wrong but as always the feds always make different rules to satisfy their needs as they go along.

Because Trump qualifies for Secret Service protection.

The chief is likely a solid stand up guy but the Secret Service erred on the side of candidate safety.

The Secret Service has a difficult job to do, which is to keep individuals under their protection alive even when those individuals are out among 10,000's of ordinary citizens. Candidates have been shot in the past. Remember Bobby Kennedy being killed in the hotel kitchen after a campaign speech?

The Secret Service doesn't have the time to tightly vet all those who will be in proximity to those under their protection. I will bet that their fix for this is to simply not allow armed local law enforcement into proximity of protected persons.

Not exactly a new thing. On one hand, it pisses me off that the feds can dictate anyfreakin'thing in Oklahoma, on the other, it's nice to see that wearing a special suit doesn't always buy you "special privileges".
