Heritage rough rider can be had for around $200. Single action revolver. Mine is very accurate and alot of fun to shoot. http://www.academy.com/index.php?pa...s_rimfire&start=0&selectedSKU=0356-01160-0001

As soon as I post this, 20 people will answer with tales of how theirs has never jammed.

To those folk I say "I'm happy you got a good one."

I have three friends with P-22's and all three are Jam-O-Matics,,,
Good ammo or cheap ammo doesn't matter at all,,,
It's rare to see a full mag without a failure.

Any Ruger is a reliable semi-auto,,,
My 22/45 has been an excellent performer,,,
I'm on my 5th bulk pack of the Federal cheap stuff,,,
If I recall correctly it's only had three fail to ejects in that time.

Beretta NEOS is a fine .22 shooter,,,
My 6" is both highly reliable and accurate,,,
I can't remember the last time it failed in any way.

My range buddy has a Browning Buckmark that is a fantastic shooter,,,
I don't recall him ever having to clear the action for any reason,,,
I personally don't like the fat grip on it but that's just me.

I know one person who has a Sig Mosquito,,,
As long as he runs Mini-Mags it works just fine,,,
Feed it anything but the expensive stuff and it chokes up.

And if you really wanna get crazy,,,
Try a CZ-75B Kadet on for size,,,
It's an expensive gun at $598,,,
But I absolutely love mine.

Last but not least I have several friends who own Heritage .22 revolvers,,,
Hey, they are the bottom of the barrel in cowboy guns,,,
But they all go bang every time the trigger is pulled,,,
Very acceptable accuracy and fun to shoot.

That's pretty much my personal experience with .22 LR handguns,,,
Except for my three K-Frame Smith & Wesson's,,,
Nothing needs to be said about those ladies,,,
They are S&W's and therefore perfect.

Browning Buckmark. It eats what ever I feed it and is very accurate. What else could you ask for?

I recently traded in an XD40 for an AK47 (I know, big change) and plan on joining USSA in about a week. I want to be able to utilize all they're awesome pistol bays so I have been thinking about picking up another handgun in 22. I was thinking about getting a walther p22 but would have to wait a little bit to purchase one due to the price.

I was wondering if you folks had any advice on a good 22 pistol to get for plinking. The Walther seems like a good gun but I am wondering if there is some cheaper options that I don't know about. I have also shot a friends old Ruger 22 Revolver and liked it, so revolvers are not out of the running.

Be on the lookout for another one. Ethan is giving me grief about not having a 22 auto pistol around. (like I have shortage of @#$ 22s!) :)
