Mine is tiny and on the bayonet lug. You can barely see it

Some of the 1946 and 1947 M44s you can find in like new condition. They are post war and depending on the country they were sold to, some never seen use, just sat in cosmoline until imported here. That's a nice one!

I thought some of you would like to see the updates on this rifle after the cosmoline was removed and a period correct sling wa added.

What’s the recoil on one of those? I bought one a few years ago and have yet to fire it. Mine has the Soviet hammer and sickle on it. Kind of cool.

It's about identical to 30-06 rifles with hard buttplates. In my old job, we shot hundreds of M2 AP and 7.62x54 AP against ballistics thingies at various times. Recoil was the same and after awhile, the bruises are too.
