Lady attorney says she was helping escort Girl Scouts to see the Radio City Rockettes and was denied entry in spite of having a ticket.
Madison Square Garden says it was because her law firm is suing them and the law firms were warned of the policy in advance.

From the NY Post-
"...Conlon was caught up in a Big Brother-esque crackdown by Madison Square Garden CEO James Dolan, who has banned anyone who works for any law firm that has a suit against any of his holdings, which includes the Knicks, Rangers, Radio City, MSG and various restaurants..."
Madison Square Garden told the paper in a statement-
“All impacted attorneys were notified of the policy, including Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, which was notified twice. In this particular situation, only the one attorney who chose to attend despite being notified in advance that she would be denied entry, was not permitted to enter, and the rest of her group — including the Girl Scouts — were all able to attend and enjoy the show.”

His House, his rules.
Yep, I would argue it is extremely petty, but if it is on your own property you have the right to be as petty as you want.

As an attorney at a firm big enough to sue a business of that caliber, I would be shocked if she didn't know exactly what would go down before she ever bought her ticket.

No one finds using facial recognition software on every person that enters Madison Square Gardens troubling? They'd be on my 'no thank you' list. The proliferation of this crap bothers me.

In the Williams Tower downtown Tulsa, QT put in a store that does not accept cash and you don't have to swipe a card at the register. You swipe a cc at the door, walk in, get what you want, and walk out. Cameras all over the place in there - this old boy is not going in that place, no way! But people go in there like no big deal - to each their own. I know cameras are about everywhere, but I still ain't playing intentionally.

It is a grey area for me. I dont mind private citizens using it to secure their property, but I do not trust the government to stay out of it.

Odds are good you run through the monitored area of a camera driven by facial recognition algorithms several times a year at least. It is used to drive foot traffic analysis in malls, large retail locations, casino security, federal buildings, airports, and even some residential security.

Heck, even my current camera setup has vehicle recognition and the expansions I am reviewing add facial recognition to my home security cameras. I currently use the vehicle recognition as a remote door bell type feature. Once a vehicle passes my BILs house on our private road, our door bell rings so we can decide if they have legitimate business or need to be reminded of the cattle guard and no trespassing sign they ignored 100yds before they got to our house.
