Thanks for posting the video.

Easy to see why the Garand was selected as the new US Military semi-auto especially with regard to field maintenance / repair. Can't imagine having to take apart a Johnson in the field and having the spare parts to support it in combat.

actually the johnson isn't any more difficult to field strip than the garand. and parts loss not any more likely. being able to top up with single rounds or strippers is a huge advantage for rifles at that time . the johnson played a combat roll in the pacific anyway just not in the american supply except for a few marine units.
