The only JM I know is Jerry Mitulak or however you spell that last name.

It indicates that it was manufactured and proofed prior to the company’s acquisition by Remington.

It’s Jerry Miculek, or just ‘Sir’ to all but a few.

The JM stamp on the older Marlin rifles stood for John Marlin the owner of the company before being sold to Remington.

Year of manufacture? The rifles made by Remington varied in fit and finish through the years. 2010-11 was the first run by Remington. They continued to increase in workmanship thru 2017. The 2018-2020 Remlins were generally made to a better standard than the tail end of JM guns.

The pics looks like the wood lines up with the metal well. Wood finish also seems to match. So I’m sure this it a good made one.
