I believe the earliest possible date date for a 35 rem is 1949 (have one personally) because they weren't cataloged until 1950, so the few you do run across dated 49 was marlin getting ready for the 1950 catalog release. Had to edit I was off a decade there

I bought my 1949 336A in 35 that looks new like its never been shot for 950 and I thought that was a good buy for that particular gun but I see people wanting 7-800 for some well used rifles. Don't think I've seen a 30-30 for less than 700 in a while. Crazy

One of the few modern era Marlins I’ve held on to. Not for its condition either. Had some ADLs that looked like they were being lifted from the rack for the first time. This one just always said “keep me”. Used to hang above the front door at the cabin. Now settles for the safe.
