What are common parts that need replaced on a marlin Model 60W .22 rifle? Mine is 20 years old and jams every other shot, no matter how much cleaning I do. Usually stovepipe type jams. Figured someone could tell me what parts wear out on these guns after a few tens of thousands of shots. It has sat in my closet in it's current state of unreliability for years, so I thought I'd fix the old girl up and order some new springs 'n' sech.

Thanks

Check what HiPower said. Also. it might need a total tear down and cleaning.

While you have it apart check the recoil buffer. They go bad and are easy to replace while apart.

Yep, the nylon recoil buffer is a common "fail" part. Many are cracked and waiting to shatter. I had one that I tried everything to drive out the pins holding the lower receiver rails together but couldn't get it to budge. I ended up building up another one out of parts I had around.

I have 3, 1 was a Glenfield that I bought a long time ago for my daughter another was a beater I took in trade and a third that is in great shape I took in trade on a tree job. I have ordered new feed ramps and buffers. The Glenfeild and beater are getting both and new recoil springs. They say the feedramps on the older ones spread causing misfeeds or the buffers crack when they get old and brittle. I should be recieving my last back ordered parts in from Midway then time to dig into them. There are alot of good links to other sights that will show what to look for and step by step instructions I found on here.

I ordered from midway and ordered new feed throats, buffers and recoil springs and after they didn't ship for 6 months I reordered. . . . Well apparently Midway doesn't drop orders after a few months and I got about $200 worth of parts for Marlin 60's I used part of them in the guns I had but have the before mentioned items laying around if anyone need them I am sure I can make you a deal on them.
