Everyone talks about earmarks. Earmarks don't mean diddly. Earmarks are talked about to divert attention away from the real problem. Now don't get me wrong, earmarks are bad, but they really amount to nothing. This is why Tom Coburn, et al talk so much about earmarks. It gets people fired up to hear the government is spending 150 million on observing monkey sex and it gets you out to vote for him. Meanwhile, he is stabbing you in the back voting to give big banks 800 billion dollars to cover up their irresponsibility and blatant fraud. Time for someone to sack up and cut where the real problem is...

Nothing really matters until you cut entitlement programs. They consume almost all of tax revenues. Everything else is borrowed. With the economy, entitlements will continue to suck down more and more money.

The way this ends is that no one has the sack to cut entitlements and this goes on until interest rates rise enough where tax receipts will not cover the interest on the debt and entitlement cuts are forced. No one gives a **** about the country, just reelection. The day this happens, buckle up. Americans are people who will trample someone to death to save 10 bucks on a DVD player. Watch out when the teat dries up.

Bottom line: Most of America is on the teat in one way or another. Messing with the teat will not get you reelected. Thus, nothing changes until it is forced.
