It no longer gave a dam.
I remember reading about that dam several months ago. It was mentioned in an article about failing infrastructure and it was predicted to fail soon. That dam has flooded and was damaged a couple times in recent years, it was not longer producing power because of it. The county seemingly was dragging their feet about taking it down, they knew it was going to fail. I guess Mother Nature was tired of waiting.
My buddy lives in Mankato...downstream from the dam. His place is on a hill but he knows many in the flood plain. River runs right through town. Could get nasty.
Perhaps this is a plot by "big boat," may be a temporary increase in boat sales...
So, has the dam burst yet?
No. They said the dam is still structurally sound, but water went around one of the wings, eroding the soil. That, is giving the dam some relief. They haven’t ordered any evacuations.
