I apologize if this is in the wrong forum (mods please move it if so) but I wasn't sure where it would best be placed.

I'm looking for advice as to whether you think it'd be "better" to sign up and attend a 3 day carbine/pistol class (the class is advertised on this site and has very good reviews) or spend the same amount of money to purchase a membership at the local gun range and make the following changes to my Noveske N4 AR: Battlecomp to replace smith vortex, change to 13" vtac extreme rail, and possibly change trigger unit to Wilson TTU or Geissele.

Thanks in advance for your input. I have wavered back and forth on this issue for some time.

Sounds like your AR isn't lacking anything - if it were failing or unable to perform what you already did with it, I'd almost say to upgrade, but if its got good stuff on it and does the job, then take a class.

What class is if if you don't mind saying?

How do you know what to put on your rifle before you really run it?

And run it you will do in a class.

I like to see folks show up with a basic carbine with iron sights, a big bottle of CLP and a willingness to learn.

Lots of AR gear that shows up onthe classifieds were take offs that were put on right before a class, and then promptly sold right afterwards.

If it was me and I had not had any training yet, I would take the class.
I like what ol yeller said and that's what I would be doing if I had the chance, show up without an attitude and wanting to learn. Otherwise, you're just wasting time, yours and theirs.

Leave it alone and take a class. 3 days sounds like a USSA course. FYI TDSA has 2 day classes and they run a little less than USSA.

LOL ain't that the truth! I got lucky I only had 2 things not working for me the Vertical fore grip and my lights position. We moved the light and I ditched the VFG and went to magpuls AFG.
