Monarch .38 ammo

Has anybody else had problems with Monarch .38 ammo? I had about 3 out of 25 that did not fire,but the primer got a nice dent from the pin. I put them in again and they fired.

I am wondering if I maybe got a bad ammo batch? Never run into that problem before w/ .38 ammo.

Could be a dirty or too oily (heavy oil) gun but IMO Monarch ammo is crap

I had some that actually tied up my S&W mdl 60. It looked like the bullet was actually coming apart at the shot and leaving pieces behind. I first thought the gun was out of time but I tried some cast loads with no problem. I won't touch the stuff now.

I've only run a box or 2 of it but never had an issue with it...

The gun is not oily or dirty, prolly the ammo.

Who makes monarch ammo? Is it cheap price wise,is the brass reloadable-or is it like cci blazer.Just curious,havent seen it on the shelves in my area

Yes, it's reloadable.

Usually the price is a little lower.

Are you shooting it through a S&W? If so, it could be the screw in the front of the grip has backed out enough to not pressure the spring correctly--strain screw IIRC.

I have had a few of their 9mm do the same thing ,guess you get what ya pay for but I still shoot the stuff...
