Had an incident today at the range with 308's reloaded with PPU brass.
Just wondering if this stuff is ok or crap?
First shot the bolt wouldn't come back and had to tap it back with a range rod.
Had left rod at home so it ruined the day.
Loading was well below published maximum.
Ammo was function tested thru action before heading to range
Primer was not flattened
Only thing I can think off is possibly a light coating of rust had formed in the chamber and locked the case when fired.
No scratches on brass though

I’ve got no experience with PPU rifle brass but I have loaded hundreds, if not thousands, of range pickup PPU brass for handgun calibers. I’ve never had any issues.

I actually prefer PPU rifle brass to many others. It is a little softer than some of the others, so it tends to last longer and works great if sizing to a different caliber. I have never had an issue with their brass and Ive loaded it from 223 REM up to 375 HH. The light rust issue has stuck cases on me before, so I would think that, or another culprit is to blame, especially given the non-flattened primers.

I've never had issues with PPU brass and some of mine is up to 5 reloadings now. PPU is my go to for some of the old military cartridges I shoot.

What rifle were you shooting? And did the brass have any deformation/bulging?
