Hey all,

I just bought five boxes of Monarch steel case 9mm yesterday and went to the range. Well, it didn't go so hot.

I had about 30% fail to fire. The primer would be dented, but no boom. After I cycled them again, they all fired.

This was between my G19 with about 1200 rounds (yes, I detail stripped the slide at 1k rounds) and my G26 with maybe 200 rounds, so I don't think it's the guns.

Be warned.:Heya:

I've recently been buying the aluminum cased Federal 9mm and have gone through 300-400 rounds with no issues. It's $9.99 at Walmart. I'm not sure how much the Monarch costs, but sounds like it might worth it to start buying the Federal.

I used rifle primers in some cut down .308 cases that I made 45acp shot shells from.
Some would fire some would not..some took 2 hits and others would not go off at all. lesson learned.
I like reloading
Like saddlebum stated hard primers possibly
