For your viewing enjoyment... I replaced the synthetic stock with a wooden stock set. To me it gives it much better balance. And for a Mossy 500 it looks very distinguished.

After (Still looking for a factory style recoil pad. I hate the look of the slip on one.)

Let me know what you think.

Looks good.
Wood furniture makes it look badass.

I always think of Bronson wielding that shotgun in Mr Majestyk and a synthetic stock just wouldn't have worked as well.

Like that a lot. I've kicked the idea around of modding my Maverick 88 turkey gun. the action slide is the hang up as it's built differently than the 500

Eventually though. gonna do it. This looks fantastic and make the gun appear much more refined!

Finally located an original style recoil pad. I'll post a pic after it arrives and I get it installed. It's coming attached to another wooden buttstock with checkering so it may get changed as well if it's in good condition.
Also got a picatinny sling adapter so I could move the front sling mount to the side of the barrel so I could mount the flashlight under the mag tube.

And yeah the Maverick forearms are pinned on so you have to replace the entire slide/tube assy to change them over.
