Looking at getting a multitool. I've narrowed it down to a few as of right now.

The wave, surge, or swisstool RS.

The main uses I am looking at getting one for is camping and other outdoor activities, and the obvious not having all my tools with me in my car at all times. It's not going to be used a ton, but I'm wanting one that's always going to work. I can get a wave or surge on amazon for $50-$60. The swiss is around $90 but I haven't shopped it a ton yet.

If anyone has used a couple or all of these please let me know what you think. Thanks

There are so many out there. All I can say is I carried and still have one of the first Leatherman made. I used it constantly in the job I was before retiring. I wonder about the steel used especially in the needle nose. I finally broke a tip off, but used a dremel and other tools to "even" it out if you will. Now, the second thing is the knife blade will not be as sharp as a good Benchmade or any other tool, so my real only suggestion is that when you do get one check the blade and then sharpen it more. Having said that, I think most of you fellows and gals probably carry a good knife in addition to the multi-tool.

I'm partial to the SOG Powerlock. Its pretty easy to open one handed and I think its comfortable in the hand. I believe Wal-Mart carries them.

One of the SOGs or a Multitasker for a shooter's tool.

The Wave is good and the Surge is a larger version of the Wave. I have both but use the SOG daily.

The Leatherman Charge is tough to beat. I own pretty much every multitool out there, and I really think the Charge is the best of best. If you can, elect to go for one of the upgraded models. The TTi or the ALX. They have upgraded blade steels, the ALX has 154CM and the TTi has S30v.
