While there is some rotation it seems that the majority of these always make my DI Top 10 list either because they are brilliant musically or I have a stange fixation on them...or both:

(In no particular order)
Bad Brains - I Against I
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Prince - Purple Rain
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Sex Pistols - Nevermind the Bullocks
Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Pink Floyd - The Wall
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Black Flag - Damaged
JaKoB - Vol. 6: Jealousy, Betrayl, Failure, and the Laughter That Followed

Let's see your list.

I'm into all kinds of music....the list is by no means representative of my daily listening habits.
It's just that I've not found a Vince Gill album that I could live with for the rest of my life. ;)
Although...he *did* record one of my all time favorite songs.

For me:

Ian Moore - Ian Moore
Jonny Lang - Long Time Coming
SRV - Texas Flood
Storyville - Bluest Eyes
Andrea Bocelli - Sogno
Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack
AIDA Soundtrack
MercyMe - Coming Up to Breathe
Casting Crowns - Casting Crowns
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me Blues

Honestly I'd like to have 10 ARTISTS whom I could have their discography... that would make me happy.

I'm assuming on this hypothetical island we have a great stereo system, right? :D The dynamic ability of the stereo makes a huge difference in my musical tastes... if I get to keep my truck with the system in it, I'ma pick some serious hard hittin' island party-music!

If you plan on living in a grass hut and growing "certain things", You may consider Pink Floyd "The Wall".........j/k

I agree with some of the choices.

What about Jimmy Buffett, ZZ Top, or The Eagles?

Edit: I just noticed that you already listed Pink Floyd

Gods, can't believe I didn't list the DSOTM! ZOMG!

And Jimmy Buffet's Songs You Know By Heart needs to be there somewhere, too... sheesh, 10's just not enough!

Damnit J.P., I remember when you used to do desert island albums and top band threads. I like them because they're fun, but hate them because I can't pick just 10 and always want to change them. And they differ day to day. Also remember Nothing Shocking and Bad Brains were always on your lists.

Right now in no particular order I will go with:

Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Clutch - Clutch
ZZ Top - Tres Hombres (Or Rio Grande Mud, whatevs)
Sleep - Holy Mountain
Live - Throwing Copper
Peal Jam - Vitalogy
The Melvins - Houdini
Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East
Unsane - Scattered, Smothered & Covered

Man, that's tough. I didn't include any classic count try or singer songwriter stuff because rock is usually more "album oriented" it seems, at least to me, while the former is more songs here and there. Suffice to say I'd grab some John Prine, Townes VanZandt, Guy Clark, Fiona Apple and Billy Joe Shaver if I had the time before the ship went down. At a minimum.

Yeah, and AC/DC HtH is always on the list too. :)

Picking just 10 is very hard indeed.
