My post office at work.

I mailed a package (~14 inches by 14 inches by 2 inches; ~1.5 pounds) from Broken Arrow to (northern) Idaho. He said it would take 4 days. As of today, here's where it's been:
8/26 BA

8/27 Tulsa

8/27 In transit to next facility

8/29 In transit to next facility

8/30 Arrived at Dulles VA Distribution Center

8/30 In transit to next facilty

8/30 Arrived at Merrifield VA Distribution Center

8/31 Arrived and processed at Madison, VA

9/3 Arrived at, then departed, Dulles VA Distribution Center

9/3 Arrived at Washington DC Distribution Center

9/4 Departed Wash DC Distribution Center

9/4 In transit to next facility

9/5 In transit to next facility

Still not there 10 days later.

Is this a govt operation, or what?

I find my life less frustrating when I don’t follow progress of USPS shipping updates.


Funny side note. I recently ordered a new shotgun barrel. They said they would email me a tracking number when it shipped. It arrived two days ago and today I got an email with tracking number showing it had shipped.

I ordered some quail hatching eggs. Shipped priority mail 1-3 day delivery. Took 11 days.

Generally speaking I have much better success with USPS Priority than all other common carriers. That said, I shipped a laptop case via ebay on the 7th and it's been sitting in MIA for weeks on this rare occasion that I used the "ground advantage" option. I just swallowed the loss and refunded the buyer since it's not their fault.
