My answer to this question of "Why does anybody need one of these (_insert name of "assault Weapon-style" or whatever_) guns" is always:

"Because one of those 'assault weapons' or rather 'self-defense' weapons could have prevented this massacre"

Nobody has a comeback to that because it puts them on the defensive as to why they don't want to "protect the children" and it's absolutely factual.

Yep. Exactly. When, after all, did he stop shooting the children? When an armed person confronted him with a firearm. If someone had been able to confront him with a firearm earlier, the child-shooting would have stopped earlier.

I "need" an "assault-style" weapon and "high-capacity clips" (sic) precisely because they render me more effective in defending myself and my family. In fact, events like this, and Aurora, and Columbine make it more imperative, not less, that I have such weapons.
