I’m assuming it’s going to get colder sometime this year. Does anyone have a recommendation one that will keep the face/neck warm? I did a search a found dozens. Which type works the best?
Make sure whatever one you go with it covers your ears. The ones that fit a little looser usually keep you warmer too. I have a hood that looks like a ski mask with the face area cut out that works great.
I have a fleece one from Remington that works well.
I recently built a hood with double layer neck and shoulder covering from some worn out camo jeans.
When I rode motorcycles all winter I made a neck brace from a sleeve I cut off a long sleeve sweater.
I filled it with batting and I sewed velcro to it.
Not hard to make something simple.
If I had to go uber cold I would look into Merino Wool

I’ve seen the merino wool ones advertised. Some of the reviews complain that they are too thin. Used to tease my MIL because she always carried a sweater. She always came back with, “some day you’ll be old then you’ll be cold too…”. Truer words were never spoken.

Looks like she has gone some really clod places.
Thin works well if you keep it above your nose while jogging.
Harder to get air to the lungs with a thicker one.
Maybe why some are made thin.
The second link someone commented on too thick for that reason.

The one I made was 16" long and made with heavy camo fleece. I made them that long to pile up around your neck to block the cold air from going down the back of your neck. They also would go up over your nose to keep it warm at the same time. Everyone that used one swore about how well they worked. I used mine elk hunting in New Mexico when the temperature was around zero degrees.
