I always did my own until last year. I figured I'd try a Dave Ramsey ELP(some guy waaaay down on SW side of town). It cost me $180 for 15 minutes of his time, same results as doing my own (I did my own forms for comparison prior to going in). I did my own again this year, and got both my refunds within a week.

My dad has always used Coy Ivey in Edmond with good results.

If this is important to you. Ask what software they use, if it is Lacerte don't use them. It is an Intuit program.

Interesting, thanks for that. Is this an "industry-standard" software? Makes sense...what is different about this compared to consumer software? I don't care to pay someone for data entry, I'm more interested in their expertise.

Good to have this perspective as well, I'm afraid of that happening.

It is industry standard. The most popular professional tax preparer software are goSystem, ProSystem, Lacerte and UltraTax. The software is nothing like products available to the consumers. I have used UltraTax and Lacerte. If you are a W-2, maybe 1 or 2 1099's, or a small business (part time) it should be pretty easy to do by yourself. Most of these commercials you see on TV is because people don't answer the questions they are asked.

Call Danny Meuller with CPA Plus. 15th and Broadway in Edmond.
Guy does my taxes and I've sent countless friends and clients there. All love him and he saves them BIG $.

My last guy was a "historian". He told me what I did and what I owed.

This guy helps me plan to save tax dollars.
