I found some 180 grain Sierra .44 cal "power jacket" bullets, # 8600 and haven't been able to find any loads. I want these to be low power, low recoil loads.

Does anyone have any published loads for 180 grain .429 bullets? have looked in Hodgdon, Speer, and Lyman books, and have found nothing.

Your help would be appreciated.

If your wanting a real light load with low pressure IMR Trail Boss will work use 6grs or less for 44special or mag just don't compress it. Look on Hodgdon Powder web sight under Trail Boss reduced loads.

Duh! You were supposed to read my mind. It's for a .44 mag. I found these old bullets in a bunch of .44 stuff I bought from M&P several years ago.

I did find one set of loads in the Richard Lee manual.

I don't have any Trail Boss. Is it available locally? Sounds like a soft shooter, and that's what I have in mind. Just playing with my Redhawk. There are about 80 of these bullets, and I suspect they are long out of production. The box looks pretty old--has metal reinforced corners.

Swampratt, thanks for the info. My Lyman 49th just came back home, so I now have that in hard copy. This should do it.

A lot of the cowboy shooters use it because of the low recoil, I use it in 44/40, 30-30 and 45/70 sometimes. Jerry in Tulsa has it don't know about OKC. You can use it in just about all calibers, the best place I found for load data is hodgdon load data on the internet.
