Hi all,
I bought a used storm shelter. It's a welded steel shelter (4x8) that's anchored to the slab in the garage. Now I need to move it from an old house to a new house.
I'm in the OKC metro area.

So I've still got some phone calls to make, but are there any 'movers' recommendations?
Maybe someone here has done this before.

Thanks for any input!

I can only think of bad ideas...

Tie on and yank that sucker out with a truck.
Rent two hitchable car dollys and attach with 3klb straps.

Call OZ and have them build you one at your place.

Don't flog me, but most septic companies can get it done. Had one moved in Lawton a few years back. Think it ran me about $250 to have it moved off the bolts and taken to the new house. Then again, that was a few years ago.

Hmmmm, a septic company?
Thanks Hargrove - I wouldn't have thought of that....
...and $250? That's reeeally reasonable. That's an awesome idea.

For now I'd prefer the contractor option. So any other options are welcome.
Especially if you've got a contact in the metro area.

I have started thinking of how I could do it myself, ...but that's plan B.
Any other ideas?

Thanks!

I would unbolt it and use some 2" pvc pipe to roll it on to a trailer. I bet a pallet jack would lift it, if you cannot just lean it over on it's back. Do a little math and figure out the weight.
Other than that, I would call a wrecker service as the cheapest option.

Rent a large engine hoist that has rollers, you can do it!! Hoist it up level with the trailer bed and twist or swing it around (get the dog out of the way) and lower it on the trailer and you got it half way done. All you need to do is the unloading at your new house and drill some new holes to mouth the thing and you're done! I know it can be done! If you can get it up a couple of inches you can place sections of 2" pipe under it and it'll roll like it had bearings. I've moved some of my heavy cast iron heaters that way.
