Just found this forum and thought I'd join and, well, introduce myself.

I actually was born, raised and currently live in Southern California. My connection to OK is that I attended OSU and met my wife who is from Sapulpa. Been hunting for the last 13 years or so with my FIL on his 1000 acre lease in Eastern OK in the Cookson Hills.

I am only to hunt the rifle season as work, family and especially money don't allow me to hunt the other seasons or game.

Hunting has become a passion of mine and even more so that my 7 year old son is very interested in hunting as he has been coming to deer camp since he was born. It's an awesome set up and have had great success. (pics if you want).

I do have a question. Has anyone heard of what the weather is suppose to do this deer season? Last several years have been a bit mild. I like it cold as most of us hunters do. Any word on forecast for mid/late November?

No kidding! How long did you live in Costa Mesa and where abouts? What brought you to Tulsa? I love it out there.

The lease my FIL has is on a greater 10K acre ranch. He has had the same lease for the last 35 years. He has had 3-4 guys on the lease hunting with him in the past but it has really only been him and I for the last 13 or so years. In the boonies with no running water or 'tricity and he has two wall tents and two older trailers for sleeping. Let me see if I have a pic or two of the set up. NO pics on this 'puter. Have them on my work pc.

Lived in Costa Mesa for 12 years - right off of Baker and Fairview. For being in the city, I loved it there. Lots of great food, some neat culture, and you gotta love being by the beach. Eventually the Newport/Orange County life just got to me, though, and I needed to get to a slower pace of life. I work for the Outdoor Channel and had been commuting to Temecula for a while, so they offered me a position in Tulsa and I nabbed it. Only been here about a month, but already in heaven.

I'd love to see pictures of that lease property. Sounds like heaven. Is it accessible by truck/trailer? I'd assume so if you already have trailers out there. Water/lectric can be pulled behind the truck. :) Boonies is what you really want - less disturbed the better!

Like I said, you ever want someone to help you in your "harvest", or just to hammer off some local hogs that might be gettin too comfortable there, you know who to call! :rubhands:
